For us as foresters, sustainability is a living practice. The whole thing is underlined at waldkontor by already established certificates such as PEFC and FSC® (FSC® C017338). In order to meet the requirements of bioenergy producers, we as a company have been SBP certified since the end of 2019. SBP stands for Sustainable Biomass Program. This is a certificate that not only ensures sustainability and legality, but also enables the calculation of CO2 savings through the use of biomass.
Since the beginning of 2020, we have also been the first German company to have extended the certificate to include a “supply base evaluation”, which enables us to identify all wood harvested in Germany as SBP-certified. This is possible through clearly documented and checked purchasing and harvesting standards.
Waldkontor is thus characterized by its pioneering role and is also able to cope with the upcoming requirements of the energy transition.
