As part of the 4th call for the sustainable modernization of coastal shipping (NaMKü), the Federal Ministry for digital innovation and transportation in Berlin awarded funding certificates totaling €31 million to the qualified projects on October 4th. With all subsidization runs combined, a total of 28 projects will be funded with €59 million.
The funding guideline (holding the same name) forms the framework for supporting German coastal shipping in the modernization of existing vessels as well as innovative and technologically leading equipment for new vessels. The aim is to modernize coastal shipping in a sustainable and technology-friendly manner. The main focus is on engine modernization as well as measures to reduce pollutants and improve energy efficiency. Topics such as alternative drives (e.g. usage of fuels such as methanol, ammonia, hydrogen) or wind assistance systems are also being addressed.
We are very pleased and grateful that the claus rodenberg group has received funding certificates for a total of 6 projects (4 new buildings, 2 retrofits) with a total funding volume of €5.3 million. The documents were handed over by the Transport Minister Volker Wissing.
In the run-up to the handover, all companies introduced themselves and their respective projects. In addition to the claus rodenberg group, the recipients of the fourth round of subsidization included four other shipping companies. Those include our partners in the ECOaster Fehnshipmanagement project, the towing shipping company Fairplay, the shipping company Gerdes Green and the heavy-lift shipping company SAL Heavy Lift.
