The ASB as an German aid organization recieved a majour donation of the claus rodenberg waldkontor gmbh for their „Wünschewagen“ welfare project, destined in Schleswig-Holstein, in the extend of 2,500 €. The physical „Wünschewagen“ („wishing-wagon“) is an altered ambulance with emergency medical equipment that is used for fulfilling the last wishes of fatally ill persons.
Birgit Priedemann, who is responsible for coordinating those wishfulfilling tours, recieves around 150 requests per year. The destinations are utterly different. „If we‘re aiming for the sea, driving to a family gathering or make a final visit to the stadion: We try to realise everything!“, tells Priedemann. The ride on the ASB-“Wünschewagen“ is always free of charge for the passenger and fully backed up with fundings through donations and volunteer workers.
„We gladly support local projects and exspecially organisations dear to us.“, states Inga Friis from the claus rodenberg company. Her colleague Constanze Behm agrees and adds: „This way our donation directly supports the person and that‘s what convinces us.“
One that‘s also convinced is Birgit Priedemann‘s son Jonas. He is one of the 120 volunteering wish fulfillers, that work in expanse of the borders and are needed, if medical attention is necessary, or the family won‘t feel comfortable to shoulder the excursion on their own. „Their support is fatal, we‘re very thankful for them!“, tells Mario Leuner, regional managing director of the ASB RV Herzogtum Lauenburg.
