Normally, the clearing construction site in Billwerder isn’t accessible because it is completely surrounded by tracks. Nevertheless, all materials and construction machinery had to be transported over the rails, which was an organizational challenge. After all, the operation was only possible on Sunday, the only day were the trains don’t run.
Another problem was the tension-laden overhead lines, and Sebastian Sadelberg’s team had to operate under extreme caution. After six weeks of negotiations with those responsible at Deutsche Bahn, things finally got underway on January 24 and the machines rolled over the tracks.
Thanks to Sebastian Sadelberg and his team for a great job under high voltage!
